The Geelong Gaol is over 170 years old and spans three levels, with approximately 150 steps to the upper levels. Patrons are advised that some areas may be uneven and to exercise caution.
Some exhibitions and tours may be unsuitable for certain patrons due to the content and nature of the information.
First Nations people are warned that images of deceased individuals are displayed throughout the museum.
Tours
All patrons under the age of 18 attending night tours must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or an adult over the age of 18 years.
Due to the nature and content of the tours, strict age limits apply. Children below the age limit are not permitted to join tours regardless of age (including babies and toddlers). If you have any concerns, please contact our customer service team.
Safety instructions will be delivered at the beginning of each tour.
Tours depart at the scheduled time and cannot wait for latecomers. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time at the designated point. The gates of the Old Geelong Gaol will be locked at the start of the tour, and we cannot admit latecomers.
Tours run regardless of weather conditions. Patrons should be prepared for all weather with appropriate clothing and footwear for the location.
Adult themes such as murder and executions are discussed on tours. Consider this when booking children on tours. If you have concerns, please contact the customer service team before your tour.
Night tours are not suitable for those using mobility aids due to upstairs access limitations. Guides cannot leave individuals alone downstairs. Customised ground-floor tours can be arranged for groups with these needs.
There is no guarantee of witnessing a ghost, and we do not set up ghostly occurrences.

Due to the heritage of the Gaol, there is no upper-level access for individuals with mobility issues or in wheelchairs.
Entry points have ramps to facilitate access for those with mobility issues.
Tours for individuals with hearing difficulties can be arranged with prior notice.
Limelight Tours welcomes all customers, accommodating disabilities where possible. Contact our customer service team for assistance with your personal needs.
